Part 1 - Barber Vintage Festival 2013

Talk about dedication, on the afternoon of Thursday, October 10th Steve flew back from the West coast and rode down to the 2013 Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival with Dan. Of course it wasn't all heroics, it was practical as well; can you imagine gettinng up early on Friday to ride over there when your body is on West coast time? Ugh, no thanks mate ;-)

They took 411 nearly all the way down, only dropping onto i759 and i59 for the last few miles to save a little time as night had drawn on. Their two powerful adventure bikes were laden with camping gear and the all important collapsable chairs, for to collapse into after the long days perusing and oohing and aaghing over the phenominal collection of classic two wheeled machines that adorn the race track perimeter at this festival.

Pitching the camp was an intersting experience in the dark, but nonetheless the tents were in place in no time and after a brief chat with the new neighbors it was time to turn in for the night, the sooner for the next day to come and with it all the glorious works of motorcyclemania that pour into this event.

Steve was up at the crack of dawn and making coffee; Dan not so much, but soon rallied as Robert arrived to join the TLCMC delegation. True to form the place was filling up fast, but Friday was the slow day; the tidal wave of arrivals would be on the Saturday morning.

As soon as Robert's tent was pitched, off the terrible trio went to explore the Swap Meet, birth place of RedBrit, Steve and Dan's brainchild from last year's festival.  They had heard that two extra rows had been added to the swap meet, so all the more junk, ahem, vintage motorcycles and parts to peruse and tempt the wallet!

The swap meet did not disappoint. The array of parts and motorcycles, good bad and ugly was astonishing and many hours passed before the boys found there way out and to the side of the racetrack.
